Job summary

Sugar Mountain is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead its accounting function across multiple business lines in a high-visibility role. You will guide month-end close, financial reporting, and internal controls while building a strong team through coaching and development.

The role focuses on partnership with cross-functional leaders, driving budgeting, forecasting, audits, and a smooth ERP transition during a period of growth and transformation.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading, developing, and coaching accounting teams.
• Experience in multi-entity or multi-business environments; food manufacturing, CPG, or restaurant experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP systems; ERP implementation or transformation experience a strong plus.
• Strong business acumen with a curiosity to understand operations beyond accounting.
• Comfortable navigating change, ambiguity, and organizational growth.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or public accounting experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all core accounting and financial reporting functions, including month-end close, general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, and tax filings.
• Supervise internal and external financial reporting processes.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of assistant divisional controllers, driving consistency and shared standards across business lines.
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to support business initiatives and ensure alignment across finance and operations.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes across the organization.
• Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external auditors.
• Strengthen and maintain internal controls, systems, and processes.
• Manage cash flow and ensure strong financial stewardship.
• Play a key role in our ERP transition, representing accounting in design decisions and helping drive a smooth implementation.
• Jump in where needed, this is a role for someone who likes to roll up their sleeves and help solve problems.
