Job summary

Metabolon seeks an experienced Corporate Controller to lead accounting, reporting, and controls at its Morrisville, NC headquarters. The role partners with senior leadership and reports to the CFO, guiding consolidation, tax coordination, and external audits.

The position may be onsite full-time or hybrid with Tue–Thu onsite, and requires a CPA with 10+ years in accounting/finance and strong leadership in a growing life sciences-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field required; MBA a plus.
• Active CPA license required.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience with increasing leadership responsibility.
• Experience in professional services or project-based services; biotech/life sciences experience desirable.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting operations including general ledger, cash management, invoicing, purchasing, accounts payable.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close and consolidation processes.
• Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports per U.S. GAAP.
• Communicate results and significant accounting matters to senior management and the Board of Directors.
• Maintain, improve, and scale accounting systems, policies, processes, and controls.
