Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Vancouver, WA seeks a Chief Operating Officer to lead the District's financial services, budget development, levy, bond and debt management, and oversight of Facilities, Nutrition Services, and Technology Services. The role reports to the Superintendent's Cabinet and requires deep public school finance knowledge and executive leadership across multi‑department operations.

The position drives strategic planning, ensures financial stability, builds trust with the Board

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field; and/or CPA license.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in financial management and/or organizational operations.
• Minimum of 5 years of successful administrative leadership in a school district or public agency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the financial and operational functions of the District.
• Direct budget development, levy, bond, and debt management.
• Provide executive oversight of Facilities and Support Services, Nutrition Services, and Technology Services.
• Serve as primary advisor to the Superintendent and Board on financial and operational affairs.
• Direct external audits, payroll, enrollment, and revenue receipting.
• Establish internal controls and coordinate state and independent audits.
