Job summary

Westmoreland County Community College is seeking a Controller to manage accounting operations, financial reporting, and budgeting processes. This role provides leadership to accounting staff and collaborates with College Administration.

The position oversees all general ledger activities, internal controls, and ERP system usage to ensure GAAP compliance and accurate financial data. Strong supervisory and auditing experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; MBA preferred.
• 5-7 years of related experience required.
• Prior supervisory and management experience required.
• Experience implementing effective internal controls required.

Responsibilities

• Drive customer service and teamwork in support of accounting and budgeting staff.
• Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems per GAAP, GASB, and FASB.
• Manage A/P, A/R, payroll, and Foundation/Grants accounting with compliant processes.
• Develop and enforce internal controls for revenues, expenditures and cash management.
• Coordinate budgeting process; develop operating and capital budgets and forecasts.
• Lead year-end audits and serve as primary contact for auditors.
