Job summary

Montgomery County Community College is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee daily accounting functions, financial reporting, and the year-end audit process. The role requires leadership of the accounting staff and collaboration with senior finance leadership.

Responsibilities include monthly close management, adherence to GASB/GAS/GAAP standards, and preparation of reports for the College and Foundation. Strong analytical and IT skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or closely related field required.
• 5-7 years of related general ledger and accounting experience required.
• CPA or Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily accounting operations including disbursement, fixed asset, construction/capital accounting, and financial reporting.
• Leads monthly close process, ensures deadlines, and collaborates with auditors.
• Prepares monthly/quarterly financial reports for College and Foundation, and supports external audits.
