Job summary

Gatewood Wealth Solutions seeks a Controller to serve as the financial backbone of the enterprise, owning accounting across holding and operating entities, including close, AR/AP, budgeting, and board-ready reporting.

The role requires CPA preferred, advanced QuickBooks Online, and strong Excel skills. You will consolidate results and deliver both consolidated and stand-alone financial packages with clear variance commentary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience, including controller-level responsibilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• Advanced QuickBooks Online proficiency — multi-entity setup, class/location tracking, bank rules, and reporting customization.
• Advanced Excel skills — complex formulas, lookups, pivot tables, scenario modeling, and robust financial modeling.
• Experience consolidating financials across multiple entities, including intercompany eliminations.
• Track record building budgets and forecasts in partnership with operators on resource decisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to translate financial detail for leadership and board.
• High attention to detail and discipline to meet monthly/quarterly/annual deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own the full accounting cycle in QuickBooks Online across holding and operating entities, including journal entries and monthly close.
• Maintain a clean chart of accounts and uniform accounting policies across entities.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and coordinate with external tax and audit partners.
• Produce monthly consolidated financial statements for the holding company and stand-alone packages for each entity.
• Build and maintain reporting in Excel and QBO reporting tools for clarity and variance commentary.
• Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecasts; refresh assumptions as conditions change.
• Manage AR/AP, vendor payments, and cash application; monitor AR aging and DSO.
• Develop financial models for ROI on investments and track performance against underwriting.
