Job summary

Cymbiotika is seeking an experienced Controller to own the company’s accounting operations and drive timely, accurate financial close. Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the accounting team, oversee intercompany reconciliations, tax compliance, and the development of scalable processes across a fast-growing consumer products environment in San Diego.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience including supervisory responsibilities.
• 3-5+ years leading accounting teams.
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience managing month-end close processes and general ledger accounting.
• Experience partnering with executive leadership.
• Experience with multi-entity and intercompany accounting.
• Experience supporting sales tax compliance and income tax reporting.
• NetSuite experience including reporting and multi-entity environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work onsite in San Diego and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Own monthly financial statements and management reporting packages.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
• Oversee cost accounting, fixed assets, and accounts receivable processes.
• Lead preparation of U.S. GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Maintain accounting policies and technical guidance.
• Establish balance sheet reviews and account analyses.
• Drive accounting automations and system optimizations.
• Oversee intercompany transactions and consolidations.
• Support external tax compliance and notices.
• Lead internal controls and audits.
• Coach and develop the accounting team.
