Job summary

Summit Point Raceway Associates, Inc. in Summit Point, West Virginia, is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations and support growth across commercial and government contracting programs.

Under the direction of the Vice President of Finance, you will oversee the accounting team, close processes, manage internal controls, and ensure GAAP compliance while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and external audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• 7+ years progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years supervising an accounting team.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with financial reporting and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and prepare accurate financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, FAR, CAS (when applicable), SCA, and government contracting requirements.
• Support DCAA audits, government reporting, and external financial audits.
• Partner with the Vice President of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Develop and strengthen internal controls, accounting procedures, and financial processes.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff while promoting continuous improvement.
