Job summary

Sky Solutions, LLC, a government-focused IT contractor, seeks an Assistant Controller to lead day-to-day GL, project accounting, and financial reporting in a hybrid Tysons Corner, VA environment.

This role ensures audit readiness, manages monthly close, forecasts, indirect rate pools, and enforces internal controls under FAR/CAS and ASC 606; collaboration with Program Managers and Contracts teams on burn rates and funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; Master’s/MBA preferred.
• CPA certification preferred.
• 5-8+ years progressive accounting, with 3+ years in the federal government contracting sector.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes with GAAP-compliant statements.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, complex journal entries, and ASC 606 revenue recognition for various contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M, Hybrid).
• Manage AP/AR/Billing, Payroll, and General Ledger staff.
• Maintain direct vs. indirect cost structures and track unallowable costs per FAR 31 / CAS.
• Reconcile monthly provisional vs. actual indirect rates (Friction, Overhead, G&A).
• Lead the annual Incurred Cost Submission preparation and support DCAA/DCMA audits.
