Job summary

Summit Point Raceway Associates, INC. seeks an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function and ensure accurate, GAAP-compliant financial reporting across the organization. You will oversee GL, AR/AP, payroll, fixed assets, and cash management, while driving process improvements and internal controls.

The role collaborates with the VP of Finance, supports audits and tax work, and ensures compliance with FAR, CAS, and government requirements in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required.
• Seven+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience managing or supervising a team.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Experience with financial reporting and internal controls.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and cash management.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, systems, and internal workflows for efficiency and accuracy.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Ensure records comply with GAAP and company policies.
• Maintain chart of accounts and accounting systems; prepare reconciliations.
• Support annual audits and tax return preparation.
• Partner with Contracts and Program Management to ensure financial compliance.
