Job summary

NewQuest is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead the accounting, reporting, treasury, and tax coordination across the organization. The role requires strategic leadership to implement scalable and compliant processes with a focus on accuracy and timely reporting.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years in full-cycle accounting within commercial real estate or financial services, and extensive experience guiding cross-functional teams and interfacing with lenders and investors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of full-cycle accounting experience in commercial real estate or financial services.
• Proven leadership track record and ability to manage cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments and communicate with lenders, investors, and service providers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to set clear goals, gain executive buy-in, and drive action items.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee accounting organization including treasury, tax, corporate, property, and investment accounting.
• Provide direction and accountability to managers for timely, accurate reporting.
• Oversee financial reporting, close processes, internal controls, and compliance across entities.
• Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and controls.
• Guide on complex accounting matters and resolve technical issues.
• Support cash flow visibility, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis.
• Mentor and develop accounting team and promote collaboration.
