Job summary

The Quest Organization is seeking a hands-on Controller to oversee accounting and financial reporting across a portfolio of commercial real estate, development, operating, investment, and holding entities. You will manage the monthly close, multi-entity accounting, payroll, cash management, and lead the accounting team in partnership with senior leadership.

Key responsibilities include preparing financial statements for multiple entities, managing intercompany activities, bank and debt

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred.
• 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory/management experience.
• Strong multi-entity accounting experience required.
• Real estate / property management accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
• Hands-on payroll and reconciliation experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting and monthly close, including journal entries, accruals, fixed assets, and depreciation.
• Prepare and review financial statements across multiple entities.
• Manage multi-entity, partnership, intercompany, and related-party accounting.
• Prepare and review bank, debt, escrow, reserve, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Handle commercial real estate accounting, including tenant activity, CAM, property taxes, insurance, CapEx, and debt.
• Oversee accounting for operating companies, including revenue, AP/AR, equipment, and expenses.
• Manage payroll processing, reconciliations, benefits, and payroll taxes.
• Monitor cash activity and assist with cash forecasting and liquidity management.
• Oversee AP/AR, vendor payments, collections, W-9s, and 1099 reporting.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Provide schedules and documentation for tax, audit, lender, and ownership reporting.
• Supervise accounting staff and improve processes, controls, and systems.
