Job summary

Cape is a privacy-first mobile carrier building a secure network for consumers, businesses, and government agencies. We seek a Controller to scale finance, own GAAP processes, and lead the first PCAOB audit while shaping a fast-growing, privacy-centric company.

You will design accounting processes, implement ERP systems, and manage AR, AP, payroll, taxes, and state compliance. A Big 4 background and a passion for building are highly valued.

Qualifications

• CPA certification and understanding of ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting experience. At least 2 years of Big 4 experience.
• Comfort creating and editing journal entries in QBO and implementing departmental accounting practices across systems.
• Have successfully led an audit end to end.
• Demonstrated ability to excel in dynamic environments with process improvements.
• Strong collaboration skills to work across business partners, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Build robust processes: Design and implement accounting best practices that maintain high business velocity while meeting GAAP standards
• Design Systems: Implement an ERP, in partnership with other key stakeholders, and provide leadership in managing the quote-to-cash process
• Make Cape Audit-ready: Prepare Cape for, and then lead Cape through, its first PCAOB audit
• Own Financial Operations: Own AR, AP, payroll, tax, and state compliance. Prepare and maintain accompanying audit-ready books and regular financial statements.
• Build a team: Hire and develop an accounting team ready to meet Cape's next stage of growth.
