Job summary

trak group in Hamilton, OH, is seeking a Controller to lead the in-house accounting function, establish processes, and drive improvements as the company transitions from outsourced accounting. This role will own the full-cycle accounting, manage ERP optimization (Acumatica), ensure GAAP compliance, and provide strategic financial analysis to executive leadership.

You will partner with leadership to implement best practices, support budgeting, and drive growth while building scalable accounting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification and/or public accounting experience preferred.
• Progressive accounting leadership with full cycle responsibility.
• Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, and GL.
• ERP administration experience; Acumatica a plus.
• Experience with sales and use tax compliance.
• Experience supporting acquisitions or multi-entity accounting.
• FP&A experience or ability to provide financial insights a plus.
• Strong GAAP and internal controls knowledge.
• Advanced Excel and financial systems proficiency.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication with executive leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the full-cycle accounting function, including AP/AR/GL and month-end close.
• Prepare accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.
• Oversee sales and use tax compliance across jurisdictions.
• Manage audit preparation and coordinate with external partners.
• Own ERP system, driving optimization and process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to automate and modernize accounting processes.
• Develop scalable accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Provide financial analysis and decision support to ownership.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
• Lead accounting integration of newly acquired businesses.
• Establish reporting structures for acquired entities and ensure system integration.
• Partner with leadership to implement best practices in finance operations.
