Novate Solutions, Inc. in Merced, CA is seeking a seasoned Controller to lead the finance and admin functions for a small corporate team.

You will oversee procurement, invoicing, general accounting, and project accounting, while driving GAAP compliance and financial reporting across multiple states. The role partners with engineering, operations, and manufacturing to implement ISO documentation and ERP migration plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration required; MBA preferred.
• 10+ years of accounting experience in project-based or service business operations.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and tax regulations; ability to implement internal controls.
• Experience leading a small team and coordinating with cross-functional departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee procurement and accounting team performance.
• Lead general ledger, project accounting, AR/AP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Develop understanding of revenue streams, cost structures, and liability exposure.
• Oversee billing functions, contract compliance, invoicing accuracy, and collections.
• Establish KPIs for billing, collections, WIP, and cash flow.
• Lead cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and financial modeling; support audits and ERP migration.
