Job summary

The Pond Guy, Inc. is seeking a Controller to partner with the CFO and executive leadership to guide financial strategy and strengthen operations. Based at our Armada, MI headquarters, you will own financial reporting, internal controls, and the accounting function as the company scales.

You will supervise a growing accounting team, manage multi-entity consolidation, and collaborate on budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning while ensuring compliance and data accuracy across all departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience as a controller, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
• 2+ years in a private environment; manufacturing experience preferred.
• Management experience with team development and process improvements.
• Strong data analysis skills and tech-savviness with accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely financial reporting in GAAP, owning month-end and year-end close.
• Direct all financial, project-based, and departmental accounting across sales channels, inventory, landed cost, COGS and gross margin by channel/product.
• Partner with CFO on cash flow, forecasting, and working capital; lead annual budgeting and capex processes.
• Oversee multi-entity accounting and intercompany consolidations; ensure integrity of financial data in ERP environment (Acumatica).
• Oversee payroll, benefits, and 401(k) accounting; coordinate external audits and tax filings.
• Develop and manage accounting staff; deliver KPIs and management reporting to execs.
