Job summary

Office Environments of New England, LLC seeks a strategic, hands‑on Controller to lead core accounting operations and act as a trusted business partner in Marlborough, MA. You will drive accuracy, controls, and insightful analytics across the finance function while partnering with leadership on cost optimization and transformation initiatives.

The role emphasizes GAAP compliance, SOX controls, and inventory costing, with a strong focus on data visualization (Power BI) and advanced Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
• 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Strong expertise in GAAP, SOX compliance, and cost accounting; inventory accounting desirable.
• High attention to detail and accuracy; ability to manage multiple priorities.
• ERP implementations or large-scale transformation experience is a strong plus.
• This role is based in Marlborough, MA with regular engagement with leadership in Boston, MA and East Hartford, CT.

Responsibilities

• Provide actionable insights through data analysis and storytelling, driving value‑creating initiatives.
• Oversee core accounting functions including the general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, month‑end close, and reporting.
• Ensure integrity of financial statements in GAAP and maintain internal controls.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closes across inventory, project accounting, and service ops.
• Drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and ERP transformation initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a finance team of 4–6 across AP, Payroll, Billing, and analysis.
