Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) in Tysons, VA seeks a Contract Administrator II to manage the full contract life cycle for a wide range of procurements that keep the nation's capital moving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, a high school diploma or GED and an additional four years of related procurement experience.
• Five years of experience in developing and administering requests for proposals and/or quotations, specifications, scope of work, and different types of contracts and agreements.
• Certification from an accredited procurement program such as NCMA, CPCM, NIGP, FAI, DAU, or a related program must be obtained within two years of hire date and maintained thereafter.
• Preferred qualifications include professional procurement certifications.

Responsibilities

• Manages the full contract life cycle from proposal through close-out on assigned contracts.
• Plans the procurement process from requisition to solicitation, negotiation, award, administration and close-out.
• Conducts the award process, including documentation, bid/proposal evaluation, and Board of Directors award action.
• Guides customers on contract types, pricing, and source selection considerations.
• Negotiates change orders and claims and mentors junior staff.
