Job summary

Dominium is seeking a Risk and Insurance Manager, Development and Construction to oversee construction-related insurance and risk programs for new construction, acquisitions, and rehabilitation projects. You will manage builder's risk, construction liability, and subcontractor default insurance, coordinating with lenders, investors, brokers, and project teams to protect assets and control risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience may be considered in lieu.
• Minimum five years in construction risk management or related field.
• Experience administering builder's risk programs for complex projects.
• Experience managing construction liability insurance programs and claims.
• Experience administering subcontractor default insurance programs.
• Strong understanding of builder's risk, general liability, and related coverages.
• Ability to review loan agreements and contracts for insurance and bonding requirements.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and related risk/claims systems.

Responsibilities

• Support placement, administration, and renewal of builder's risk programs.
• Administer project-specific builder's risk programs through lifecycle.
• Assist with builder's risk claims from notice to recovery.
• Support placement and renewal of construction liability programs.
• Manage construction liability claims from notice through settlement.
• Administer subcontractor default insurance program, including prequalification and loss-reserving input.
• Review project documents to evaluate insurance, indemnification, and bonding.
• Coordinate responses from lenders, investors, brokers, and contractors.
• Analyze program performance, costs, and loss trends to optimize coverage.
• Track and report insurance costs, claims, and emerging risks to leadership.
