Job summary

RealREPP, a full-service recruiting firm, is assisting a growing national organization in hiring a Purchasing Agent. The role focuses on quoting, procurement, and delivery of specified products and services from qualified suppliers.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the construction industry preferred.
• Strong knowledge of purchasing systems, practices, and procedures.
• Effective negotiation skills and ability to procure materials in a timely manner.
• Strong product knowledge of pipe, valves, and fittings for plumbing/mechanical systems.
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing, database applications, and ERP systems (COINS preferred).
• Strong collaboration skills with suppliers, customers, project teams, field staff, and accounting.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill material requisitions from field staff, estimating, or fabrication shops; ensure materials are procured at competitive prices and delivered within required timeframes.
• Partner with staff and management to eliminate waste and streamline processes; work closely with Accounts Payable and Project Management to resolve invoice discrepancies and ensure timely payment.
• Assist in preparing bid documents and bidder lists, including inquiries, requests for bids, and recommendations for award.
• Coordinate with project managers and other departments to procure goods and services including raw materials, tools, equipment, parts, and supplies.
• Support resolution of supplier-related issues and conflicts.
• Coordinate bulk deliveries of rough products to meet project deadlines.
• Prepare and manage purchase orders; follow up on past-due orders and ensure timely delivery.
