Job summary

COPT Defense Properties is seeking an Accounting Manager to ensure GAAP-compliant financial information for development projects. You will oversee cost accounting, monthly labor allocations, and revenue reporting, while maintaining SOX 404 controls and preparing audit work papers.

You will partner with project managers, monitor variances, and provide timely analyses to leadership. Four to six years of related accounting experience are required, with CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related discipline required.
• CPA is preferred.
• Four to six years of related accounting experience required.
• Prior construction accounting experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
• Proficient with MS Office and Voyager accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly labor allocation journal entries and revenue reporting.
• Assist with depreciation reviews and related activities.
• Maintain cost accounting for land and office development projects.
• Review job cost ledger and data integrity for GAAP compliance.
• Monitor cost activity, variances, and provide management with timely reports.
• Provide decision support to project managers and act as primary contact for accounting questions.
• Oversee internal controls to identify discrepancies and ensure proper coding.
• Supervise accounting staff and mentor for growth.
