Job summary

Lefferts is seeking a Project Controller to oversee all accounting and financial operations for construction and development projects. You will partner with development teams, project managers, and leadership to ensure accurate oversight, cost control, and timely reporting across assigned projects.

The role requires strong GAAP knowledge, 5+ years in accounting, and experience with job costing and capital budgeting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting or finance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• Experience in construction accounting or project accounting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and project financial procedures.
• Experience with job costing, capital project budgeting, and project reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all project accounting activities including AP, AR, job cost accounting, and month-end close.
• Lead the monthly close process for assigned projects with financial statement review and reconciliations.
• Oversee job cost accounting, classify and capitalize costs, and reconcile to budgets.
• Review contractor invoices, change orders, and draw schedules for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate construction loan draws with lenders and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, variance analyses, and identify risks and overruns.
