Job summary

Cobalt Service Partners is seeking a Controller to lead accounting operations for a project-based portfolio across multiple U.S. locations. The role covers close, reporting, revenue recognition, job costing, and forecasting, with a focus on GAAP discipline and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Technical accounting experience in public accounting, audit/assurance, or complex operational accounting.
• GAAP proficiency including project revenue recognition (ASC 606).
• Experience with ERP and multi-entity environments; payroll tooling knowledge (e.g., ADP).
• Strong Excel and data-modeling skills (lookups, pivot tables).
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Close and reporting: run monthly close with speed and accuracy.
• Project revenue: manage revenue recognition for projects incl. percent-of-completion.
• Job costing: own job costing and margin visibility with operations.
• Analysis & forecasting: prepare EBITDA, cash flow, and leadership-focused analyses.
• Accounting maturity: support moving from cash to accrual accounting; data transitions.
