Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Senior Construction Manager to lead complex, high-value capital projects including renovations, expansions, and ground-up design-build efforts. The role focuses on Owner’s representation and cross-functional collaboration with architects, engineers, and vendors.

The successful candidate will manage multiple projects, define scopes, and drive schedule, budget, and risk management across regions, with significant travel and extended hours as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• 10-15 years’ related experience in commercial construction, managing projects.
• Advanced knowledge of building systems and construction processes and procedures.
• Proven management and leadership of complex projects, including ground-up build-to-suit and design-build construction.
• Strong team leadership capabilities.
• Experience with large-scale or multi-site projects, including demonstrated experience delivering ground-up build-to-suit and design-build construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex or high-value capital projects, including major renovations, expansions, ground-up design-build and build-to-suit construction.
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects and provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
• Develop, maintain, and update project schedules to track milestones and completion dates.
• Prepare bid analyses, cost comparisons, and contractor recommendations for senior leadership.
• Manage project budgets and financial performance; lead contract negotiations and risk management.
