Job summary

gpac seeks an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and finance function for a growing construction and fabrication organization. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, project accounting, internal controls, and compliance while partnering with the CEO and operations teams.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in accounting/finance, a CPA license, and construction industry experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
7+ years accounting/finance experience.
3+ years of management or leadership experience.
Active CPA license required.
Construction industry experience strongly preferred (heavy civil, infrastructure, fabrication).
Knowledge of job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and project financial reporting.
Experience with equipment accounting and fixed assets preferred.
Experience with Viewpoint Vista or similar software preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions with accuracy and timeliness.
Lead budgeting, annual operating, capital, and program budgeting processes.
Manage project accounting: job costing, WIP, revenue recognition, and project reports.
Analyze projections vs. actuals; recommend profitability improvements.
Oversee billing, collections, cash management, and working capital.
Lead external audits, tax coordination, and relationships with lenders and partners.
