Job summary

Pathway Talent Partners is partnering with a well-established and growing construction company to identify a Controller who will serve as the organization's accounting leader. This role partners directly with the CFO, leads a team, and drives operational and strategic decision-making across the business.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, analytical, and experienced in construction or related industries, with strong GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in leadership.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, internal controls, and financial reporting.
• Construction industry experience is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills and analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage all core accounting functions: accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements aligned with GAAP standards.
• Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes; provide variance analysis and strategic insights.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting policies.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic planning and operational decision-making.
• Oversee cash flow, collections, and disbursements.
• Coordinate audits and tax filings in collaboration with external advisors.
• Drive continuous process improvement across financial systems and practices.
• Mentor and manage a high-performing accounting team.
