Job summary

Wyoming Outdoor Council in Lander seeks a Conservation Director to lead policy and advocacy for public lands, wildlife, and water across Wyoming. You will supervise the Conservation Team of three staff and help craft short- and long-term program goals aligned with our strategic plan.

The role includes developing campaign plans, mentoring staff, drafting comments on projects, and coordinating with partner organizations; occasional statewide travel is expected.

Qualifications

  • Ideal candidate has five years in conservation policy and three years in management.
  • Experience in developing and executing conservation campaign plans.
  • Strong communication and collaboration across diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee policy and advocacy on public lands, wildlife, and water across Wyoming.
  • Supervise the Conservation Team of three staff and mentor them.
  • Develop annual work plans and program goals aligned with the strategic plan.
  • Draft scientifically grounded, factually accurate comments on projects and policies.
  • Coordinate with partner organizations to advance shared policy goals.
