Job summary

The State of Wyoming, Wyoming Game and Fish Department, is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead and deliver complex engineering, architectural, and construction projects that support wildlife conservation and public access across the state. You will manage multifaceted programs, supervise a small team, and collaborate with contractors and agencies to meet schedules, budgets, and codes.

Ideal candidates will have a Civil Engineering degree, a Wyoming PE license or be eligible, and 2–4 years of

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (in Engineering).
  • 2-4 years of progressive work experience (in Engineering) with the level of a Project Engineer.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required at time of hire (Wyoming PE required within 1 year).

Responsibilities

  • Conducts engineering, planning & review including performing engineering design on Department driven projects.
  • Reviews plans and specifications of third-party vendors to ensure needs are met, QA, and code compliance.
  • Coordinates with personnel and leadership to communicate plan specifications and issues.
  • Administers proposals for facility maintenance and repair; oversees contracting and project management.
  • Leads tasks for a small team and acts as Department representative on major projects.
