Job summary

University of Florida is seeking a Conference-Event Manager I for the College of Nursing to lead strategic planning, execution, and evaluation of high-impact events. This role partners with cross-functional teams to ensure brand alignment and stakeholder engagement across internal and external audiences.

Responsibilities include end-to-end event execution, budget management, vendor negotiations, and collaboration with marketing and communications to maximize attendance and impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma and seven years of relevant experience.
• Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
• Master7;s Degree in a related field such as Hospitality Management, Marketing, Communications, or Public Relations (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, complex events with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale, high-visibility College events such as symposiums, conferences, donor events, leadership retreats, and academic ceremonies.
• Oversee venue selection, vendor sourcing, contract negotiation, catering, audiovisual services, travel, and on-site execution.
• Develop and manage event budgets; track expenses and ensure cost-effective resource use; identify sponsorship opportunities.
• Collaborate with marketing and communications to promote events; create content for programs, websites, and social media; drive attendance and engagement.
• Partner with faculty, leadership, alumni relations, advancement, and external organizations to align events with academic and fundraising goals.
