Job summary

Dow Jones is seeking a Compensation Analyst in NYC to partner with People leaders on pay strategy, programs and decisions, including merit reviews and promotions. You will translate data into actionable insights and support annual cycles, equity, and market benchmarking while upholding equity and consistency across the organization.

The role sits in the People team, reports to the Manager, Compensation, and requires collaboration with HRBPs, Finance and business stakeholders; expected to be in

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in compensation, HR, or related field with experience guiding compensation decisions
• Experience with market benchmarking, job evaluation, salary structures, pay equity, and program administration
• Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable business recommendations
• Strong business partnering and communication skills to advise leaders at varying levels
• Experience with HR systems and data analysis tools; advanced Excel preferred
• Attention to detail and discretion with sensitive compensation information
• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Responsibilities

• Partner with Compensation team members, People BPs, and leaders to guide pay decisions, promotions, job changes, and retention
• Apply market data, internal equity, and guidelines to develop practical recommendations
• Conduct compensation analysis using benchmarks, internal data, and salary structures to assess positioning and equity
• Support annual compensation cycles including merit, promotions, and incentives
• Identify and communicate trends, compression, and equity concerns requiring review
• Translate analytics into clear insights for leaders on compensation options and factors
• Develop and deliver compensation reporting and analytics for leadership
