PowerSouth Energy Cooperative seeks a Communications Specialist II to assist the Public Relations Supervisor in advancing the company’s public image through effective writing, editing, and multimedia content creation. The role focuses on employee and member relations, media engagement, and corporate communications across traditional and digital channels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
• Hands-on writing, editing, layout, and design skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists in planning, developing and implementing PowerSouth's total communications program, including PowerLines, newsletters, brochures, digital content/media, PowerSouth's corporate website, and other corporate communications needs.
• Provides support, exchanges information and maintains close contact with PowerSouth employees, distribution members, media, and other relevant public community organizations to foster positive work relationships and enhance PowerSouth's image.
• Assists with planning/executing tours of PowerSouth facilities and with implementation of events with various community organizations, nurturing the strong bonds and public image in our community.
• Responsible for ensuring the success of PowerSouth by promoting teamwork, group goals and objectives, properly communicating and cooperating within the PowerSouth organization and with member systems as well as demonstrating and promoting standards of respect and dignity, accountability, integrity, and trustworthiness.
