Job summary

PowerSecure seeks a Communications Specialist to develop internal and external communication strategies, and to serve as a communications counsel for multiple departments and initiatives. The role includes writing for news sites, executive talking points and video scripts, and collaborating to organize events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations or communications preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in public relations, writing, communications, marketing, media or related field.
• Experience in the electric utility field is a plus.
• Excellent writing ability.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse clients including senior executives.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic communications counsel for various company accounts.
• Develop internal and external communications strategies/messages and tactical implementation on company issues.
• Interface with officers and managers to achieve business goals and communicate key initiatives.
• Collaborate with marketing to co-develop and execute communication strategies for internal and external campaigns.
• Write for intranet, executive talking points, emails, social media, and video scripts.
• Support Public Relations efforts, including storm and emergency communications.
• Contribute to ideation and creation of compelling content for targeted audiences.
• Provide copywriting/editing support to marketing materials.
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; work independently and creatively.
