Job summary

Apogee Architectural Metals is seeking a Senior Communications Specialist to develop and execute strategic employee communications, collaborating with HR and leadership to translate business strategy into clear messages. You will guide messaging, plan programs, and tailor content for executive and frontline audiences across channels.

The role requires exceptional writing, strong project management, and the ability to distill complex information into concise, audience-appropriate communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years' progressive communications experience in a business/industrial environment.
• Experience supporting senior leaders and translating direction into clear communications.
• Experience creating content for multiple formats and channels (email, SharePoint, Teams, presentations, digital content, video scripts, print, visuals).

Responsibilities

• Support senior leaders in developing messaging that aligns with priorities and objectives.
• Translate executive direction into employee messaging, talking points, FAQs, presentations, leader tools, and other materials.
• Provide guidance and adjustments to improve clarity and audience relevance.
• Adapt messaging to leadership preferences while ensuring quality and consistency.
• Develop and execute employee communication plans and programs across locations and functions.
• Write and edit executive messages, announcements, newsletters, SharePoint content, leadership updates, stories, and recurring communications.
• Ensure communications are clear and accessible for both office and production employees across channels.
• Support initiatives that strengthen employee experience, culture and alignment.
• Develop communication plans, calendars, and deliverables for initiatives and ongoing programs.
• Coordinate content across channels (SharePoint, newsletters, websites, town halls, print, digital boards).
• Develop employee stories, business updates, recognition content, employer brand materials, and external-facing content as needed.
• Collaborate with HR, Operations, Marketing, IT, and other leaders to align messages and delivery.
• Suggest improvements to communication standards and channel use.
