Job summary

Trellint seeks a business-savvy commercial lawyer to join its legal team as Legal Counsel. You will report to the General Manager with a dotted line to Group Legal Counsel, collaborating with sales, finance, and operations across multiple jurisdictions.

Role focuses on commercial matters including software licensing, SaaS, and public procurements, with opportunities to assist on M&A and portfolio acquisitions.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of related legal experience in an international law firm or in-house legal department.
• University degree in law (e.g. JD) and admitted to practice in Canada or the United States.
• Strong commercial law skills including software licensing, public procurement, and contract negotiation.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely advice to stakeholders across geographies with Group Legal Counsel.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements including software licenses and SaaS.
• Review RFPs and tenders, assess terms for compliance with policy and requirements.
• Lead contract/subcontract reviews and interface with customer/vendor contracting teams.
• Mentor the Contracts Manager and Compliance Manager; manage team workload and development.
• Support M&A due diligence and transaction documents setup, as needed.
• Advise on data protection and privacy compliance across products and data handling.
