Job summary

ElevenLabs is seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to support North American SaaS, licensing, and strategic partnerships. You will draft and negotiate complex agreements, collaborate with sales, BD, and operations, and monitor evolving data protection and AI-related frameworks to manage risk across jurisdictions.

You will help localize templates and policies, provide pragmatic legal advice, and scale the Legal Team’s commercial function while enabling responsible growth in a fast‑paced AI

Qualifications

• J.D. degree and active membership in at least one U.S. State Bar (NY or CA preferred)
• 6+ years of relevant post‑qualification legal experience (in‑house experience in technology or SaaS strongly preferred)
• Proven track record drafting and negotiating complex commercial and technology agreements
• Strong knowledge of enterprise software licensing, SaaS, data protection, and intellectual property
• Experience advising on privacy, cybersecurity, and cross‑border data transfer issues
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem‑solving skills
• Comfort in fast‑paced environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines
• Prior experience with heavily regulated industries is a plus

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, with a primary focus on GTM/Sales transactions in North America, including enterprise customer contracts
• Partner with sales, business development, and operations teams to design and implement strategies that support high-growth go-to-market initiatives
• Monitor and interpret evolving legal and regulatory developments, including data protection, technology, and AI‑related frameworks, and apply this knowledge to contract drafting and risk assessment
• Develop, maintain, and localize contract templates, playbooks, and policies to reflect regional requirements and industry best practices
• Provide clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused legal advice to cross-functional teams, tailoring advice to enable responsible growth and innovation
• Contribute to scaling the Legal Team’s commercial function, fostering a collaborative, solutions‑oriented team culture
