Job summary

SmartBear, headquartered in Somerville, MA, is seeking a Collections Specialist to manage a portfolio of customer accounts, proactively drive timely payments, and maintain professional communications on invoices and commitments.

You will review accounts receivable aging, identify past-due balances, prioritize collection activity by risk, research delayed payments, and coordinate with Sales, Licensing, and other stakeholders to resolve issues while keeping ownership through resolution.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in collections or AR or similar role.
• Experience with B2B collections preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication; cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage portfolio of customer accounts; follow up on receivables and communicate invoices and commitments.
• Review AR aging; identify past-due balances and prioritize collection by risk.
• Research delayed payments; root-cause analysis; coordinate with Sales/Licensing to resolve.
• Maintain records of collection activity and support AR reporting and aging analysis.
• Tune dunning parameters and automate workflows; assess performance and adjust.
• Identify recurring challenges and implement improvements in collections.
