Job summary

Google Public Sector seeks a Strategic Cloud Engineer to design and implement distributed, scalable cloud-based infrastructure for government and education customers. You will develop architectures, collaborate with clients, and guide migration and modernization efforts to meet mission needs.

The role reports to the Public Sector office and may allow partial telecommuting; a base salary ranges from $127,000 to $183,000 with a 15% bonus target plus equity and benefits.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 24 months of experience in a Strategic Cloud Engineer-related occupation.
• Experience with Python, Golang, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Cloud Formation; cloud infrastructure components and design; and networking principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop solution architectures and implement distributed, scalable cloud-based infrastructure and application modernization.
• Collaborate with customers to design cloud architectures, migration approaches, and application optimizations aligned to mission objectives.
• Serve as a technical resource, providing troubleshooting support and resolving customer challenges.
• Communicate needs to internal teams and guide cloud solution implementations to ensure successful outcomes.
