Job summary

Walbridge is seeking a Risk Management Manager for the Controlled Insurance Program (CIP) portfolio. You will provide strategic oversight, governance, and financial performance for CCIP/OCIP efforts, coordinating with executives to mitigate risk and ensure compliance across projects.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive process improvements, and manage brokers, carriers, and program administrators while delivering clear, actionable insights to senior leadership from Detroit, MI

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Construction Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in construction risk management, insurance programs, CCIPs/OCIPs.
• Direct experience with CCIPs and/or OCIPs enrollment, payroll, compliance, reporting, and closeout.
• Experience managing brokers, TPAs, carriers, consultants, or professional services.
• Strong financial acumen with forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and leadership communication.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive process improvement.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise governance and internal accountability for all CCIP and OCIP-related project requirements.
• Manage broker and program administrator execution of enrollment, payroll tracking, compliance, reporting, claims coordination, and closeout.
• Establish CIP processes, controls, and deliverables for accuracy and compliance.
• Lead issue resolution and escalation for CIP matters affecting project teams, financials, or risk.
• Direct proper setup of CCIP projects, scope definition, and kickoff/pre-bid coordination.
• Oversee enrollment metrics, bid deducts, payroll submissions, certificate issuance, renewals, and closeout activities.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance trends, evaluate CIP risks, and take corrective actions.
• Develop documentation, training, and reporting standards for scalable CIP administration.
• Prepare and present financial updates and program insights to senior leadership.
