Job summary

NSA seeks Linguists (MDLAs) to support SIGINT missions, offering the LADP or direct hire paths. Candidates should have Chinese language proficiency and at least ILR 2/2 in reading/listening, with a degree and relevant analytic experience.

The role emphasizes translation, analysis, and collaboration across the Intelligence Community. MENTORSHIP and SME duties are possible as analysts advance, with opportunities to develop core analytic competencies and participate in multiple operational tours

Qualifications

• Minimum language proficiency ILR 2/2 in reading and listening for the target language.
• Degree in any field acceptable with relevant experience in language work or analysis.
• Experience in translation, transcription, or intelligence analysis preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, transcribe, translate foreign language material for SIGINT.
• Produce written and oral assessments with insights unavailable from other disciplines.
• Work with partners across the Intelligence Community and internal NSA teams.
• Mentor, coach, and lead other Language Analysts as SME when applicable.
• Ensure the technical health of the mission and maintain tool proficiency.
