Job summary

Jewish Silicon Valley is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to partner with the CEO and guide financial strategy, planning, and operations for a growing nonprofit. The CFO will oversee reporting, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and compliance with GAAP and nonprofit fiduciary guidelines.

The role requires senior finance leadership, ability to engage staff and boards, manage investments, audits, and build strong relationships with donors and volunteers.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership and communication in nonprofit or for-profit environments.
  • Senior finance or accounting experience in nonprofit and/or for-profit settings.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, accounting, finance or a related field.
  • CPA certification strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in financial operations and systems for reporting, budgeting, forecasting and internal controls.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to nonprofit fiscal/fiduciary guidelines.
  • Direct annual forecasting and budgeting for all departments and initiatives.
  • Coordinate the annual independent audit and consolidate financial statements.
  • Lead investment accounting and serve as staff lead to relevant committees.
  • Present and defend financial position reports to the Board of Directors.
