Job summary

Liberation Programs, a Bridgeport, CT-based nonprofit, seeks a CFO to lead financial operations, partner with the President/CEO on strategy, and manage budgets, grants, and audits. The role reports to the President/CEO and guides all financial planning for the agency.

Responsibilities include overseeing fiscal reporting, coordinating audits, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards while engaging the board’s finance committee for long-term planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
• At least ten years of progressive finance experience in CT or nearby nonprofit.
• Minimum 3 years in a similar CFO role.
• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, grants, and audits.
• Experience with Medicaid and Medicare audits.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fiscal reporting including revenue, expenses, balance sheet, cash flow.
• Partner with CEO on strategic vision and contracts.
• Direct preparation of budgets and financial analysis for service lines.
• Lead agency audit processes and compliance with standards.
• Engage finance committee to develop long-term plans.
• Coordinate cash flow planning and banking relationships.
• Manage grant budgets and reporting.
