Job summary

Cox Consulting Network is partnering with a mission-driven, PE-owned education provider seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer to own financial strategy, capital allocation, and forecasting to fund responsible growth and maximize profitability.

You will work closely with the CEO and leadership team, drive the annual budget, rolling forecasts, profitability improvements, and a 13-week cash forecast, while maintaining a strong control environment and high-performing finance staff.

Qualifications

• Finance leadership: ownership of budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and executive reporting in a multi-location or multi-entity business with measurable results.
• Accounting judgment: strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, revenue recognition, controls, and close oversight with practical examples.
• Hands-on modeling: ability to build and explain integrated income statement, balance sheet, and cash-flow forecast.
• Operating judgment: evidence of profitability improvement, cash conversion, or capital allocation with clear actions and outcomes.
• Communication: explain variances, risks, and actions clearly to CEO, board, and leaders.
• Team leadership: build or improve finance-team performance with processes and reliable delivery.

Responsibilities

• Own the Strategy: drive annual budget, rolling forecasts, and long-range plans connecting enrollment, staffing, and openings to revenue and cash.
• Manage Liquidity: maintain a rolling 13-week cash forecast, surface funding needs early, manage variances.
• Support Decisions: present data-driven spending and pricing recommendations, calling out assumptions, risks, and returns.
• Lead the Function: partner with Controller while owning overall control environment, team performance, and financial statements.
