Job summary

Morrison & Company, a Northern California meteorological consulting firm, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to guide financial strategy and growth. Based on-site, the CFO partners with the CEO and executive team to manage capital planning, risk, and M&A while building scalable financial infrastructure.

The role leads budgeting, forecasting, GAAP compliance, and investor relations, with a focus on high-value contracts, revenue recognition, and enterprise-wide financial discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, with 3–5 years in a senior finance role (VP Finance or CFO).
• Demonstrated experience managing complex, high-value contracts and revenue recognition.
• Proven experience in capital raising, debt financing, or private equity/venture-backed environments.
• Hands-on M&A experience including due diligence, valuation, and integration.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead the company’s long-term financial strategy to support rapid growth.
• Develop multi-year financial models, forecasts, and scenario analyses for decision-making.
• Provide regular financial reporting to the CEO, Board, and leadership team with variance analyses.
• Establish KPIs and dashboards for real-time financial visibility.
