Job summary

The Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation seeks a Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function, aligning investments and expenditures with its mission and new strategic plan.

Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will secure financial stewardship, advance asset growth, and partner with leadership on governance and planning. The ideal candidate will bring 15+ years of experience with at least 5 in senior leadership, a strong foundation in nonprofit finances, and a dedication to New Jersey’s communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Deep knowledge of finance and accounting functions in large, complex organizations.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills for financial planning, forecasting and investment management.
• Excellent relationship-building skills and experience leading diverse, high-performing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance, accounting and endowment management functions.
• Partner with CEO and Board to refine strategy and align investments with mission.
• Oversee budgets, financial trends, forecasts, audits, and financial controls.
• Manage a $300M endowment and optimize investment policy and performance.
• Support development of equity-focused investment framework and mission-related investing.
