Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in a senior leadership role in non-profit, public, or private sectors.
• Broad interests in arts, education, environment, and media.
• Track record working with a board.
• Proven communications skill.
• Understanding of public policy and political process.
• Knowledge of philanthropy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and accountability for programs and strategies guided by evaluation.
• Inspire staff engaged in strategy development, grantmaking, and administration.
• Manage fiscal, administrative, and human resources functions.
• Report to the Board on financial and operational matters including investments.
• Engage civic and community leaders to foster systemic change.
• Facilitate mission, policy, strategy discussions with the Board for governance.
• Maintain transparent communications with Trustees and staff.
• Oversee a communications strategy to maximize program impact and policy influence.
• Serve as spokesperson and inform officials and the public about the nonprofit sector.
