Job summary

Santa Barbara Museum of Art seeks a strategic, mission-driven Chief Financial Officer to guide financial planning and operations. Reporting to the Director/CEO, the CFO will steward resources and counsel the board as SBMA embarks on its next capital campaign and growth phase.

The successful candidate will bring substantial senior-level nonprofit financial leadership, deep knowledge of nonprofit and fund accounting, and outstanding analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Nonprofit financial leadership experience.
• Sophisticated knowledge of nonprofit and fund accounting.
• Outstanding analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to operate at strategic and tactical levels.

Responsibilities

• Steward SBMA’s resources to realize its mission through strategic financial counsel and operations.
• Partner with the Director/CEO, Board of Trustees, and executive leadership on financial planning.
• Support SBMA’s upcoming capital campaign and growth initiatives.
• Translate aspirations into sustainable financial and operational planning and execution.
