Job summary

DISCOVERY Children’s Museum seeks a strategic Chief Financial Officer to lead the Finance and Accounting Department, ensure GAAP compliance, and partner with senior leadership to safeguard assets and drive growth.

The CFO will oversee budgeting, forecasting, audits, and internal controls, mentoring finance staff while aligning financial strategy with the museum’s mission and programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required with CPA highly desired.
• Minimum eight years of senior-level finance and/or accounting experience.
• CPA certification and C-Suite level leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial leadership to ensure sound fiscal management and report to senior leadership and the Board.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and cash flow analyses for the organization.
• Coordinate annual audit with external auditors and monitor financial assets and liabilities.
