Job summary

FIXX Energy is seeking a seasoned Category Buyer – Raw Materials in Smyrna, TN to lead global sourcing for electrode materials, separators, and related components. You will drive TCO, supplier performance, and risk mitigation while partnering with Engineering, Quality, and Operations to support growth.

The role requires 5+ years in strategic sourcing, strong negotiation skills, and experience with battery materials. On-site role with travel; competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline required.
• 5+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management experience.
• Experience sourcing battery materials, ESS components, automotive, or energy storage commodities preferred.
• Strong experience managing global suppliers and international sourcing activities.
• Experience negotiating complex commercial agreements and long-term supply contracts.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global category strategies for electrode, separator, and related battery material commodities.
• Lead RFQ, RFI, and RFP processes to identify best-value sourcing opportunities.
• Drive supplier competition while maintaining long-term strategic partnerships.
• Establish supplier performance metrics and lead scorecard reviews.
• Collaborate with Legal to develop and maintain supply agreements.
• Monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery and pricing.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed for supplier management.
