Job summary

Nextpower seeks a Senior Category Manager in Battery Storage to lead global sourcing for LV/MV switchgear, transformers, inverters, and EMS rack equipment. You will drive category strategy, manage RFPs, contract terms, and supplier performance, partnering with Engineering, Commercial Operations and Legal to align with project needs.

The role requires 5+ years in category management, strong negotiation, ERP experience (SAP/Oracle) and hands-on knowledge of renewable energy procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in category management and supplier management.
• Renewable energy procurement experience; BESS preferred.
• Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and E-Procurement tools (Coupa/Ariba).

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategies to achieve cost competitiveness and supply security.
• Lead RFP sourcing, evaluate proposals and ensure adherence to project specs and timelines.
• Negotiate terms and contract equipment/service agreements for projects.
• Support risk assessment with supply chain insights including geopolitical and economic factors.
• Analyze market trends, costs, and technology roadmaps to inform decisions.
• Drive cost reduction through should-cost analyses and total cost of ownership.
• Lead QBRs with key suppliers and monitor supplier quality and performance.
• Define and monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery, lead time, savings and risk.
