Job summary

South Gloucestershire Council is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to shape and develop care provisions across the region. You will collaborate with social care, housing, public health, and providers to deliver priorities and build a sustainable market that supports strong communities.

You will lead strategic commissioning in adult social care settings, including home care, care homes, and specialist services.

Qualifications

• Requires degree or professional qualification in social care, healthcare, public health, housing, business studies or related discipline.
• Experience at senior level in commissioning within social care, housing, health or public health.
• Experience developing commissioning strategies and market analysis within related sectors.
• Strong understanding of Care Act market-shaping and procurement regulations.
• Experience managing teams and leading diverse work areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice and information to customers, delivering high-quality and value-for-money services.
• Support the Strategic Lead for Service Development and Partnership and the Service Manager in adopting new legislation and policy agendas.
• Help manage competing priorities and drive new strategic areas of work in line with service needs.
• Potentially manage a small team of commissioning officers to support team objectives.
• Maintain knowledge of children’s and adult social care, housing, health and public health frameworks and personalization agenda.
